Lolo Jones, who won the USA and the World Championships for hurdle events 2013 has reached this position through a great deal of dedication and perseverance. Jones was the only child of a five-child family as well as grew up living in poverty. Jones lived with her mom in the cellar at a local church. It was a life that required Jones to change schools and attend the same school each year up until her first day of high school. Jones moved away from her mom to Theodore Roosevelt to allow her to pursue the track she was interested in. She lived with different families during high school to be focused on her academics.
